CARY, N.C., — July 13, 2015 — To help providers get paid more quickly and efficiently, Medfusion released a new patient payment and revenue management solution. Medfusion Pay is a suite of four key products that enable healthcare practices and organizations to collect copays and balance payments at seven different points in the patient encounter journey.
“As health plan deductibles rise, patients are paying an increasing share of their healthcare expenses and require online and mobile payment options from their health providers,” said Vern Davenport, CEO of Medfusion. “It’s critical that practices have technology solutions, such as Medfusion Pay, to make it easy for consumers to pay and for providers to get paid more quickly with less burden on staff.”
Medfusion Pay consists of four key components:
Medfusion Pre Check—a mobile application that allows patients to complete prep work and make payments by clicking on a link in an appointment reminder
Medfusion PayService—a payment processing service built exclusively for the healthcare industry that features an ultra-flexible and clear reporting dashboard that makes balancing and reporting one-click easy
Medfusion ePay—offers seven ways patients can electronically self-serve from the Medfusion Patient Portal, or through clear, easy-to-read value-add products like eStatements and “PayHere”—a one-click bill payment solution that does not require portal sign-in
Medfusion PayPoint—a point-of-service (POS) terminal solution that accepts Europay MasterCard and Visa (EMV) credit cards and Near-Field Communication (NFC) payments (available in third quarter 2015)
“The service has worked flawlessly, but the PayService Dashboard is my favorite feature,” said Cindy Nyberg, Chief Financial Officer, Raleigh Neurology Associates (RNA)—a Raleigh, N.C. practice using Medfusion’s PayService for its credit card processing. “My financial analyst is very diligent about daily and monthly balancing, and when she saw the monthly reporting capability her response was ‘Yes! Finally!’ It not only saves my staff time, but now bank card deposits and fees are transparent and can easily be reconciled to actual patient deposits.”
Medfusion delivers transformative technology and services that put patients in control of their healthcare and enable providers to thrive in a value-based healthcare delivery environment. Our patient portal, evolving platform and mobile capabilities connect more than 11 million patients to their healthcare providers—facilitating bi-directional communication, enhancing patient engagement and improving the practice’s financial operations.
