CARY, N.C. — November 4, 2014 — Medfusion, a leading provider of patient portal software for more than 9.8 million patients, announced today its partnership with Liaison Technologies, an industry leader in electronic health record (EHR) integration and workflow solutions. As part of this relationship, Liaison is one of the first companies to complete Medfusion’s new certification program for the portal’s restful application programming interface (API) integration platform.
The certification process tests the partner’s product for its ability to appropriately use Medfusion’s API platform before it is available on Medfusion’s cloud. The process looks at how the two products will interact and how practices and patients will experience the product.
“As part of our commitment to making technologies and information readily available to patients, we have upgraded our platform to comply with the most current API structure, and we are ensuring our partners’ technology properly works with our platform,” said Vern Davenport, president and equity partner of Medfusion. “We are responsible custodians of the patient experience, and we keep this responsibility top of mind as we consider partnerships.”
With this certification for Medfusion’s API, Liaison can use Medfusion’s cloud to provide lab results to their providers. In turn, providers can customize these Liaison reports in a way that is best for their patients.
“We are thrilled about this partnership with Medfusion. In today’s healthcare market, patients are moving to fully functional healthcare portals that integrate with the EHR at the clinic, and focus on the patient-physician experience,” said Gary Palgon, VP Healthcare Solutions, Liaison Technologies. “By partnering with Medfusion, we are helping clinics provide lab reports on the patient’s portal of choice, in a patient-friendly format. This is a big boost for our lab partners, who are obligated to provide lab reports to patients when requested.”
